The first place to visit is Castelvecchio Castle – a defensive structure against water threats. Here also lies the Scaliger Bridge, destroyed during World War II but now fully restored. Inside the castle, you'll find the city museum with an extensive collection of weapons, ceramics, paintings, and jewelry.

We continue our walk on Verona's main square Piazza Bra, most of which is occupied by the Arena di Verona - a huge ancient Roman amphitheater, built around 30 AD, and is the most famous concert venue in Verona.
Next, we move along the street to the largest and one of the main churches in Verona, Chiesa di San Fermo, a brilliant example of Gothic architecture. A little further, we will see the preserved ancient Roman gates (Porta Leoni), named after the lion sculptures adorning the gates. The Lion Gates are considered some of the oldest gates of old Verona.

Later, we can visit Juliet's House, or rather the courtyard, where the famous balcony and the statue of Juliet are located. According to legend, one should touch it for good luck. This place is loved by both lovers and lonely hearts awaiting love. Hence, the arch in the courtyard is entirely covered with various confessions. To the disappointment of many tourists, this place is nothing more than a clever romantic creation by the locals. Nevertheless, the pretty and cozy courtyard creates a captivating atmosphere of romance.
In front of us, Piazza delle Erbe opens up, another famous square in Verona. During the day, the square is bustling with thousands of tourists and market stalls. So, the best time to visit this attraction is in the evening or on a Sunday. At this time, the square is entirely free of vendors, allowing you to enjoy the architectural beauty of the place and soak in the medieval atmosphere.
We take a turn into the nearest alley and, after a short walk, we'll see the three Scaliger Arches. These are a stunning example of 14th-century Gothic architecture.

We then find ourselves in front of the Church of Saint Anastasia. Behind the church is the embankment, from where it's easy to reach the stone bridge Ponte Pietra.

We return back over the bridge, once again enjoying the views, and head straight to the Main Cathedral of Verona.
