How to Get to Terracina

The nearest airports to Terracina are Rome Ciampino in Rome (95 km) and Capodichino in Naples (117 km). 

There are four options:

1. By bus from Termini, the terminus of the Rome metro, where Rome's central railway station of the same name is located – a place crowded with thousands of tourists and locals every day. You can get to this station on the Leonardo Express train or by road, by bus or taxi. Given the constant traffic jams, the train is the more comfortable option. Then you have to wait for a bus and spend several hours travelling with numerous changes (there is no direct service to Terracina). From Naples, a similar trip starts from Naples station.

2. By train. Again, you first need to get to Termini. Since Terracina has no railway station, you will have to make changes, finishing the journey by bus.

The journey from Naples is similarly complicated and long, with trains departing from Napoli Centrale, the city's main station.

3. By rental car. Many tourists rent a car in advance. 

Be prepared for "surprises": 

• Difficulty parking (especially in small towns like Terracina);
• A substantial sum of money "frozen" on your card as a deposit for the car;
• Time lost at the airport, as child seats or other extras are often unavailable;
• The peculiarities of driving in Italy – numerous speed limits, toll roads and the temperamental driving style of the locals.

4. Terracina taxi transfer.
