The second route goes through Pisa. Again, in Rome you board a plane to Pisa. Then walk 390 meters to the Aeroporto Galilei di Pisa station. There, take a bus to Via Crispi and walk another 490 meters or so to Pisa Centrale station. From there, take a train, changing at La Spezia Centrale, and you will finally reach Monterosso.

There are a few more ways to reach Monterosso al Mare, and all of them involve paying for plane, train or bus tickets. On top of that, you will have to cover a great deal of the way on foot.
