Alassio is located on the Ligurian coast, which is in northern Italy. From your country, you can reach this resort by flying to the airports in Genoa or Milan. From Milan airport to Alassio is 250 kilometers, and from Genoa ― less than a hundred. From the airport, you can book a transfer to Alassio. You can rent a car with or without a driver. Alternatively, you can call a taxi in Alassio or use public transport ― both trains and buses run from Milan and Genoa to Alassio. 

Taxi in Alassio 

You can reach the resort from the airport by ordering a taxi in Alassio. From Milan, the road will go along the A7 highway and will take about three and a half hours. You can shorten the journey on the toll sections of the A10 highway: traveling it is about 30 kilometers shorter. 

From Genoa, it's closer ― the distance is about a hundred kilometers. The road runs along the coast and takes about an hour and a half. 

In major cities of Italy, particularly in Genoa and Milan, you can use the “Uber” app. This is a car rental with a driver, a kind of variation on a taxi. A trip with “Uber” is cheaper than a taxi, more convenient than a train or bus, but not as reliable as either. 

In Alassio itself, there are five taxi services, including the large Italian network Radio Taxi. The cars in the fleets have different levels of comfort. 

Transfer to Alassio

A transfer is optimal for tourist purposes. Meeting at the airport with a sign, help with loading luggage, a trip to the hotel, and sanitary stops ― all this is included in the transfer cost. The romance of independent travel on public transport in unfamiliar places and the search for adventures still pales in comparison to the comfort when it comes to a long-awaited vacation.  

Group transfers, which are included in tourist packages, are usually carried out by large buses, “big buses,” or medium-sized “mini-buses” depending on the size of the tourist group. For individual transfers, comfortable vehicles for 6―8 people are used.  

Cost of Taxi in Alassio

From Genoa's Cristoforo Colombo airport, the cost of a taxi to Alassio will be from 130 to 160 euros, and from Milan's “Malpensa” airport 450 ― 500 euros. It is cheaper and more convenient to book a car in advance, for example, with an English-speaking taxi and transfer service TTSTaxi. Finding a car on-site or registering at the airport information service is troublesome and may be more expensive.  

Within the resort itself, a typical ride around the city will cost 5-10 euros. If a taxi meter is used in the taxi, the cost per km is usually 1.30 ― 1.60 euros, although an additional service charge is often encountered. 

In general, the most convenient and fastest option to get to Alassio is a transfer from Genoa airport. This route will take about an hour and a half and will run along the Ligurian coast.
