Short on time to book a transfer? Can’t find your destination?

If you're lucky enough to visit this incredible city, we would be pleased to welcome you and offer you English-speaking transfer and taxi services in Venice. Visiting Venice is a dream for any romantic. Both young and not-so-young couples strive to visit this city. Venice is a city of love, considered the most romantic city in the world. A lot of movies have been filmed here and countless marriage proposals have been made.

Transfer Venice

Venice is unique in all aspects. Geographically, the city is located on islands and the mainland. This feature of the city should be taken into account when planning a trip. Let's consider options for how to get to Venice, the cost of a taxi in Venice, and the benefits of booking a transfer to Venice online in advance.

How to get to Venice

Venice Airports

Venice has 2 airports:
  • Marco Polo Airport, located in the town of Tessera, about 15 minutes from Venice itself.
  • The second most important Treviso Airport. This airport mainly receives low-cost airlines like Ryanair and Wizzair.

Public Transport in Venice

You can reach Venice from the airport by public transport. These include buses and the Alilaguna vaporetto. On the mainland part of Venice - Mestre, you can move around using city buses. You can also take a bus from Mestre to Venice. How to get around in the island historic part of Venice? There are 3 options:
  • On foot. For example, from Piazzale Roma, where you can arrive by bus, to St. Mark's Square, it's just over an hour's walk.
  • Vaporetto. Water bus. This is the primary city transport in Venice. Although Venetians themselves prefer walking. The vaporetto is your option if you're traveling independently and without baggage.
  • Water taxi in Venice. If you came to Venice for a few days and are traveling with luggage, this option is for you. You might not enjoy a one-hour ride on a crowded vaporetto. And of course, walking over bridges with suitcases isn't the best option either.
  • Gondola in Venice. Many people think you can get around Venice by gondola. But that's not true. It's an antique mode of transport used mainly for tours. It's like a carriage to us.

Water Taxi in Venice

The main transport tourists use is the water taxi in Venice. This is a small boat designed for up to 8 passengers. Locals call it motoscafo, meaning motorboat. The number of such licensed passenger boats in Venice is limited. Therefore, the cost of a ride on a water taxi is not cheap.

Cost of Water Taxi in Venice

The cost of a water taxi in Venice varies from 60 euros to 120 euros. For Venice residents, the cost of a water taxi is much lower than for tourists. The night tariff for a water taxi is 20% higher than the daily rate. The night tariff is effective from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

How to Order a Water Taxi in Venice

It's best to book a water taxi in Venice in advance. If you are fluent in English or know a bit of Italian, you can do it by phone by calling one of the water taxi services. Or you can do it through our company.

Water Taxi Venice – What's Special?

There are several nuances to consider when ordering a water taxi in Venice.
  1. There are no English-speaking water taxi drivers in Venice.
  2. Under no circumstances do water taxi drivers leave the boat, even to meet or see off passengers.
  3. A large number of Venice hotels do not have a water door. It's not possible to reach many of them by water taxi. Therefore, before ordering a water taxi in Venice, consult with us. It's absolutely free, but you'll be aware of how to plan your movement around Venice.
  4. There are also hotels located on separate islands that can only be reached by water taxi.
  5. Upon meeting, water taxi drivers do not hold a sign. Therefore, a tourism assistant service is very much in demand in Venice. Typically, an assistant is ordered for meeting and going to the water taxi at the airport, at the train station. An assistant is also necessary if your hotel does not have a water door. In these cases, without an assistant, you simply won't know how and where to find your water taxi.

Transfer in Venice

To get from the airports and move around the mainland part of Venice, there is a transfer service in Venice. In Italy, such companies are called NCC - Noleggio Con Conducente. Translated into English, it means car rental with a driver.

Difference Between NCC and Taxi Venice

  • A taxi driver can't meet you at the airport with a sign. Only a transfer driver can do that.
  • An NCC vehicle cannot leave the office without a prior request. But a taxi can wait for an order at taxi stops at the airport and train station.
  • The cost of a taxi within the city is usually not high. Leaving the city limits is priced at a separate tariff and is much more expensive. The taxi price in Venice is determined by a meter. The transfer price in Venice is fixed, set during booking, and doesn't change.
  • Venice taxis are white cars with a "checkered" flag. NCC vehicles are usually black and must have the NCC or Noleggio con conducente inscription on the windshield. If there is no such inscription – it is likely illegal operators. In this case, you can ask the driver to show the license. Using illegal taxi services in Italy is against the law even though you're a tourist. After all, ignorance of the law does not absolve from responsibility.

Cost of Transfer in Venice

The minimum transfer cost in Venice is 40 euros. From the airport to the city with an English-speaking driver is 50 euros. The cost of a minivan is slightly higher. Also, the transfer price in Venice may increase in high season. Therefore, if you see a price that suits you, it is recommended to book it because prices may be higher closer to the date. If your plans include a trip from Venice to another city, it's definitely worth ordering a transfer. It will be cheaper than a taxi, more comfortable, and reliable.

Tours in Venice

In addition to transfers in Venice, we also offer tours in Venice. We work with the best guides in Venice. When you contact us to book a guide in Venice, we know which guide will suit you best based on feedback from our clients. After all, a guide who emphasizes art and architecture in Venice will not be suitable for families with children. And a guide who conducts interesting tours in Venice for children will not satisfy a tourist who came to deepen their knowledge in art. And one of our main directions is trips and tours from Venice. For example, you can book the following trips with us:
